There is no difference in the tax content, however the main difference would be your reason for applying.

If you are looking for a change of career, a new skill set, looking at getting back into the workforce, the opportunity to work with ITP or just something new, then the class-based courses are the only way to go. Here are the benefits:

  • No previous tax experience is required, you just need to be good with numbers and love working with people
  • Each year ITP offers successful students from the class-based courses the opportunity to work with us. Self-paced students will not have this option
  • Class-based students work one-on-one with their teacher and receive support and guidance all the way through the course.

The self-paced course is designed for those already working in the tax industry and wanting to ensure their knowledge is up to date. This course is not relevant to those wanting to work for ITP.

How much do your courses cost?

The cost of the class-based courses in 2024 will be $379. Self-paced online courses are also only $379.

We recommend all students allow at least 10-12 hours of self-study at home each week. Class-based courses also include two 2.5hr classes each week, either at an ITP office (In Class course), or online (Virtual Class course).

+

Yes, but only before the course commences. Once the course commences no transfers will be accepted.

What teacher support do I get in the self-paced course?

+

Yes, the hours you commit to the training course will count towards this requirement.

What job opportunities are available, if I do either of the class-based courses?
